I had to make one of my own...

Preparing for Elizabeth's 2nd birthday

It took me a bit to decide on what the theme for Elizabeth's 2nd birthday was going to be, but then she basically told me when she started saying "Elmo". This was the 1st word she had picked up on her own (I guess Elmo always talking in the third person has something to do with it. "Elmo love parties!").

The next step was to figure out how to make it girly. Pinterest was the 1st place I started looking and found some of sites that gave good ideas for the cake (not doing the elmo topper in the pic though), an outfit (which I decided to make myself and will post about later), a candle for the cake, and I just couldn't resist this birthday hat! I found a tutorial for a cute envelope for the invitations that I altered a bit (Elmo looked sad in the tutorial one) and I will post about that later as well. I also this Elmo doll that says things like "Happy Birthday!".

I still need to get decorations and figure out how to keep the kids busy. A couple ideas I have are a Stick-the-nose-on-Elmo game, and maybe an Elmo bean bag toss (if I make these I will post about it). I thought about doing an Elmo pinata but that just seems weird to have kids beat up Elmo to get candy, not to mention the other kids who get in the way.

So that's what I have for now but I will post about the outfit, envelopes, invitations, and games later!
